Make hiring easy
Employer branding in gaming has two parts: showcasing your company’s values and consistently living up to them. In the gaming industry, reputation spreads quickly, so authenticity is essential. For start-ups and established companies alike, a strong brand attracts talent and builds trust, especially when paired with quality games and consistent values

Employer Branding is vital for a company's profitability, service or product quality and growth or scalability.
There are two major aspects to employer branding:
Showcasing Your Company’s Attitude: Building a positive perception through visible values and practices.
Living Up to Those Perceptions: Consistently meeting expectations over time, not only across all teams and departments but also with vendors, users (players), and clients.
The balance of these two aspects varies based on your industry.
While I don’t have exact figures for other fields, I do have a good understanding of the gaming industry, especially in India. This community is very niche and closely connected. In gaming, the employer branding ratio leans towards 20% on showcasing and 80% on consistently living up to those values.
In such a connected industry, word travels fast. It’s not hard for professionals to find someone with firsthand experience or who knows someone who does. Initial impressions are shaped by showcasing, but deeper inquiry will reveal whether a company truly aligns with its promises.
On the other hand, if you prioritize living these values first, showcasing becomes far easier and more credible.
Guidance Based on Business Stage:
For Start-ups: Begin incorporating this approach from day one. It may seem overwhelming amid other challenges, but it has a compounding effect, yielding noticeable results within 9-12 months. After reaching a certain threshold, it becomes self-sustaining.
For Established Companies with a Neutral Brand: Start implementing this now, and you’ll see similar compounding effects within a shorter timeframe.
For Companies with Negative Branding: It will take more time and effort to shift organizational behavior. The challenge here is that while leadership may be unaware of the extent of the negative perceptions, others (employees, clients, and candidates) are likely already aware.
A third critical aspect of employer branding in gaming is the quality and impact of the games you produce. Whether developed in-house or for clients, successful games significantly enhance the company’s reputation and help attract and retain talent.
While the games themselves may be beyond your full control, focusing consistently on showcasing and living your values builds a strong foundation for positive perceptions.
In essence, employer branding reflects the company’s and its employees’ attitudes.
There is a long list of benefits of employer branding, I have mentioned a few.
Conversion from offer to joining will be 100%
Conversion from Interview to offer will improve
Hiring through internal references will skyrocket
High retention rate
Hiring will be required only for building new teams not replacing existing ones
In the highly competitive gaming industry, employer branding has become crucial for studios aiming to attract skilled professionals. Studies indicate that employer branding not only enhances hiring efficiency but also improves employee retention and engagement. In countries like India, where the gaming market is growing rapidly, a strong brand can significantly impact candidate perception.
